Gelato. La dolce vita in frozen form.
On our very first day in Rome, I was excited to introduce Paul to the real gelato, which in my opinion, is in Rome. After checking out the Pantheon, we stumbled upon Ciucculá Gelateria Artigianale. Despite its close proximity to one of the most notorious attractions in Rome, the shop was perfect; a no-nonsense in-and-out experience. No frills or crowds when we were there, just good, homemade sweetness.
Ordering the small gave us the option of two scoops, so Paul ordered cappuccino and crema, while I opted for café and biscotti. The gelato was delightful, and kept us going for a few more hours in our jetlagged stupor.
La dolce vita, indeed.
