6 can't-miss places to eat in Woodstock, Vermont

6 can't miss places to eat in woodstock vermont

Vermont has always been a destination we sneak away to any chance we can. From our home in DC, it is a drive that can take around nine hours, so it takes some planning to make the trip! But, oh my, is it ever worth it!

What is it about Vermont that keeps us coming back? It’s a different pace of life. The people are kind and genuine. And then there’s the scenery. 😍

It IS the Green Mountain State, after all!

Vermont Green Mountains

In addition to all this, we eat and drink REALLY well every single time we visit. If it’s not ridiculously delicious home cooked meals with family, then it’s heading into Woodstock for some tasty bites.

Here’s a list of some of our favorite spots to eat while visiting family in Woodstock, Vermont:

Breakfast at Soulfully Good Cafe in Woodstock, VT

Breakfast of champions

Starting your day with a pile of pancakes and real maple syrup? Um, yes, please. The Mountain Creamery is the real deal. It's a charming old-school staple that's been around forever and is located right in the middle of downtown Woodstock. Try to grab a table by the window to get the most people-watching-per-pancake 🥞👀

Ready for some post-breakfast caffeination? Head down the street to Mon Vert Cafe for a perfectly made espresso, or my newfound obsession, a London Fog. And PS: if you've somehow still got room, Soulfully Good has the most delicious blueberry muffins (filled with only the freshest berries) and other breakfast goodies! ☕️

Sandwiches that stun

Stop by for the fresh organic produce, stay for the Moonlight in Vermont sandwich (turkey, cheddar, apple goodness!) plus a wide array of made-to-order sandwiches with only the finest ingredients. The Woodstock Farmers' Market has a decent beer and wine section, too!  🥪

Worthy Kitchen Amazing Beer and Fries

Dinner deets

Get to Worthy Kitchen early if you want a seat, because this place can get paaaacked. And for good reason, too. The beer selection is stellar, with Hill Farmstead and Sip of Sunshine both constantly available on tap! And the food is a no-nonsense farm-to-table selection of traditional and adventurous plates — with so much selection that’ll make you want to come back the next night, too. 🍔 🍻

Soft serve ice cream at the White Cottage in Woodstock, VT

And the cherry on top: dessert

Another solid (yet seasonal) spot for a low key lunch or dinner spent overlooking the Ottaquechee River is just in the outskirts of the village, at the White Cottage. While snack bar style food like fried seafood or burgers are delicious, it’s the soft serve ice cream that makes my mouth water most. Stop by after any of the above options for a soft serve twist with rainbow sprinkles — a summertime tradition in Vermont. So good 🍦

There you have it — six of the best places to get your fill of Vermont food and drinks in the Woodstock area! Enjoy and make sure you arrive hungry and thirsty 😋
