As you might remember, I planned a mother-daughter weekend in New York to see "Hello, Dolly". The biggest concern of this trip was packing light, while staying warm in temperatures that were set to dip into the single digits! So here's what I put together to make the most of this quick getaway with Mom!

cold day in new york city

Daytime Sightseeing

While walking around, a warm jacket was a must, especially when paired with my favorite hat and new faux fur scarf (not pictured above here, but oh boy, did I regret not wearing it)! My Uggs made their New York City debut, too!

Jacket: Patagonia $299 - true to size, wearing size small
Hat: CC Beanie $15
Faux Fur Scarf: LOFT $60 (currently on sale!) (pictured in photo at top of post -- scarf here was a gift, so not sure of the details...sorry!)
Jeans: 7 For All Mankind $179 (currently on sale!) - true to size, wearing size 27
Boots: UGG $200 - size down 1/2 size, wearing size 7
Approximate dates: Jacket, and scarf are recent. Jeans and boots are 1 year ago. Hat is 2 years ago.

Dinner and a Broadway Show

I made sure to dress for the cold weather, and the possibility of varying temperatures inside the restaurant and theater. My cold shoulder sweater and necklace were so fun, and lent themselves well to layering!

Top: Loft $35 (currently on sale!) fits true to size, I'm wearing a small
Necklace: J.Crew Factory $30 (currently on sale!)
Bottoms: J.Crew $50 - true to size, wearing small
Booties: Toms $55 - size down, wearing size 7
Approximate dates: Sweater and necklace are from the summer/fall season and no longer in stock. Bottoms are 1 year ago. Booties are 5 years ago.

Any other must-haves for cold, cold wintertime travel? Let me know!
