If you had asked either of us years ago if we would ever end up living in Washington, DC, we probably would have laughed out loud. Neither of us is particularly politically-driven, and so living in the nation's capital could seem like an unlikely pairing. But there is so much more to DC beyond Capitol Hill. We love playing tourist in our own backyard, and eating and drinking our way through the city that is going through a huge food renaissance. Exploring different neighborhoods is a great way to get a feel for the city's history, personality, and constant gentrification (for better or worse). This is a small enough city so that it feels manageable, and one where we can definitely feel a sense of home, despite the ubiquitous political turmoil!
